This year’s visit is well underway and everyone is doing an amazing job. We have ten new children this year and many new host families too.
The first few days of the visit are dedicated to ensuring the health of the children. Medical, dental and optician appointments and check ups for all of them and any treatments needed. But there is always time for some fun too. Let’s find out what they have been up to:
Monday and Tuesday was filled with medical appointments, some activities at the church and some time at the park. On Wednesday, the children enjoyed some craft and cooking activities.
Thursday was the first trip out and the children had a blast at Maidstone Leisure Centre. They went swimming (for many of our new children this was their first swimming experience) and after lunch they played in the soft play and on the ice slides.
Friday was a trip to John Lewis in Bluewater, where the children got new shoes and had a lovely lunch in the cafe. They also played crazy golf at Pirates’ Cove.
After an amazing fun-filled week, the weekend is time to spend with their host families, making lots more lovely memories.
We are very grateful to everyone who has helped us make this visit happen. We could not do this without the amazing support of so many people and organisations that donate money, time, services, activities, equipment and so much more. Big or small, everything is appreciated and you are all amazing. Just look at those happy faces and what you have achieved! Thank you.
