Week 4 – Monday 4th July to Friday 8th July, 2016
So the children have now completed their final week in the UK and are spending their last weekend with their host families before heading home on Sunday. Once again they have had yet another full on week of activities, let’s fill you in:
On Monday, the sunshine returned and the children were ferried to Margate by a fleet of taxis for a day at Dreamland.
On Tuesday, Diggerland.
On Wednesday, the children went to London to see the sights.
On Thursday, the children experienced the best of a British Christmas (in July!).
Finally, on their last scheduled day, the children spent a quieter day with some crafts.
Then in the afternoon the children performed at their Thank you and Farewell concert. At the end of the concert, there were not many dry eyes in the hall. For many of the children this is their last of five visits to the UK with FOCC – Medway and it was clear how much their time here over those years had meant to them.
Now it is time for a last weekend with their host families before heading home.
We are so very grateful to everyone who helps us put on these amazing activities for our children. From the volunteers who help run the day, to those that provide activities. You are all amazing! Thank you so much for making such a difference.
